Cecil Sweeps Tri-Match, Winning Streak Grows to Six

COLUMBIA, Md. - Cecil volleyball grabbed a pair of victories against Howard (3-0) and Allegany (3-1) on Saturday morning.

The Seahawks have now won their last six contests. They move to 10-4 (7-4 Region 20) on the year.

Cecil 3, Howard 0

• Tied at 25-25, Etta Harris scored a pair of kills to close out the opening set
• The Seahawks scored four of the last six points to take set two
• Two kills and a block down the stretch from DeeDee Williams handed the Seahawks set three and a sweep
• Cecil landed 14 kills in the opening two sets, then closed out the match with 16 in the third
• Etta Harris and Kendra Watters combined for 30 digs and 26 kills
• Hannah Beck recorded 35 of Cecil's 44 assists

Cecil 3, Allegany 1

• Allegany would take the opening set after 10 Cecil errors
• The Seahawks swung back into form with 13 kills to grab set two
• Cecil went up 20-9 in set three, then halted a late Trojan rally to win it
• Tied 12-12 in the fourth, the Seahawks scored 13 of the final 16 points to close out the match
• Harris led with 19 kills and a pair of blocks
• Watters earned 15 kills and topped all players with 22 digs
• Beck collected 35 assists and 15 digs
