Three Seahawks Tabbed for All-Region 20 D2 Team
NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball saw a trio of players named to the 2025 All-Region 20 Division 2 Team, as announced by region officials on Wednesday evening.
Franco Riposo | First Team | Sophomore | Catcher
Riposo finished the year as one of the most well-rounded catchers in the region. Defensively, the sophomore backstop posted a .987 fielding percentage and caught nine runners stealing. The Quebec, Canada native was no slouch with a bat in his hand and ended the year with a .341 batting average. His .473 on-base percentage was the second highest among Cecil hitters. Riposo produced multi-hit games eight times and grabbed a knock in 11 more.
Chris Woods | Second Team | Freshman | Outfielder
Woods was a fixture in the middle of Cecil's lineup, leading the Seahawks in batting average (.391), on-base percentage (.503), and hits (52). The freshman also finished second on the team with 10 doubles and third with 13 stolen bases. Woods registered a hit in 31 contests, including five games with three hits and 11 with two. The Ecorse, Michigan product also made 12 appearances from the mound, grabbing two wins and a save.
Justin Weaver | Honorable Mention | Sophomore | Infielder
A staple in the heart of the Seahawks' batting order, Weaver mashed a team high 12 home runs and earned a .640 slugging percentage. The sophomore infielder's 40 RBI, 27 walks, and 19 extra-base hits were second among Cecil batters. Weaver recorded a hit in 29 games, 14 of which coming as multi-hit performances. The Coatesville, Pennsylvania native had five-straight games with two hits or more from March 13-22.
