LARGO - Cecil College baseball got back on track Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Prince George's Owls 13-3 to lead off the day.
The Seahawks scored at least one run in all but two innings, with nine of their 13 coming from the fourth and sixth. Prince George's was held scoreless until the fifth thanks to a strong effort from Mike Preske (2-1). The freshman struck out four over five frames to earn the win.
Jimmy Garrett had a career day at the plate, leading Cecil with four hits and four RBI. Jake Brethauer recorded his first collegiate home run and drove home two. A half-dozen additional Seahawks chipped in one hit each.
The Seahawks move to 25-19 after the win.
