CUMBERLAND, Md. - Cecil softball grabbed a road sweep at Allegany on Saturday evening. The Seahawks improve to 11-3 overall.
Game One - Cecil 12, Allegany 10
The Seahawks took down Allegany in extra innings in the opening contest. Cecil plated two runs in the top of the bonus frame, then held the Trojans off in the bottom for the victory.
All nine Cecil batters had at least one hit. Lily DeLong led the team with three. Keira Wolfe finished with a double and three RBI.
Taylor Stapleford (6-1) tossed 16 strikeouts over eight innings to earn the win from the circle.
Game Two - Cecil 14, Allegany 6
Cecil scored 11 runs over the final three innings to earn a mercy rule win after six innings.
Kylee Bergman finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and five RBI. Taja Souza collected three hits and two RBI. Gabriella Smith homered and posted a pair of RBI.
Souza (4-2) also took the win from the rubber, striking out four batters.
Up Next
Cecil faces Mercer County for its first non-region bout of the season on March 29.
