ARNOLD, Md. - Cecil softball secured a pair of one-sided victories over the Anne Arundel Riverhawks on Wednesday afternoon.
The Seahawks improve to 3-1 (3-1 R20) after today's results.
Game One - Cecil 21, Anne Arundel 0
Taja Souza (1-1) and Malea Ferdinado twirled a combined two-hitter, leading the Seahawks to a shutout win in the opener.
Anne Arundel pitchers struggled from the circle, walking 17 Cecil hitters. Five Seahawks recorded extra-base hits, including a home run via Riley deRoulac. Keira Wolfe, Gabriella Smith, Souza, and deRoulac recorded two hits each.
Game Two - Cecil 20, Anne Arundel 4
The Seahawks carried their momentum over to game two, dropping another 20 runs on the hosts for a sweep.
Keira Fendt collected four hits and three RBI to lead the team. Keira Wolfe, Lily DeLong, and Kylee Bergman snagged three hits each.
Ferdinando started the game, striking out four batters over two frames. Taylor Stapleford (2-0) took the win out of the pen, punching out eight of the game's final nine batters.
