HAGERSTOWN - Cecil College softball took a trip to Hagerstown prior to Easter, falling in game one to the Hawks before defeating their Region 20 Division 2 foe in game two.
The Seahawks are now 12-10 overall and 4-8 against R20 D2 opponents.
Game One - Hagerstown 9, Cecil 1
Cecil struggled on offense in the opener, recording just one run on five hits in a losing effort.
Layla Hopkins recorded Cecil's only RBI and grabbed two of the Seahawks hits. Sloane Tanner and Amaia Smith provided one double each.
Smith took the loss from the circle, falling to 4-5 on the season.
Game Two - Cecil 6, Hagerstown 1
The Seahawks rebounded in the closing match, downing the Hawks 6-1 to grab a split.
Briana Rebman did most of the damage on offense, collecting three RBI off of two hits. Gianna Dougherty earned two hits, including one double, and took the win from the circle. The freshman ace struck out 10 while allowing just one run on four hits.
