Dayra Diamond, enters the 2018-2019 season as her first year as the Head Women's Basktball Coach at Cecil College. Diamond was named head coach in June of 2018 with no returning student-athletes. Eight new freshman make up her first recruiting class for the 2018-2019 season.

Coach Diamond comes to Cecil College with 10 years of previous coaching experience in the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA). Diamond graduated from Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Va. with her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics where she played Division II women's basketball. She later pursued and completed her Master's degree in Career and Technical Education.

Her first head coaching position was at Polytech High School in Woodside, De. with a small, injury stricken team of 6-8 players and finished with a 2-18 overall record. The following season, Coach Diamond's team improved to a 10-10 finish.

Diamond is also the founder and head coach of Showing Teens Achievement Through Sports (S.T.A.T.S.), which she started in 2012. Unlike many traditional summer basketball programs, S.T.A.T.S. provides student-athletes with tutoring, mentoring and completely free training. All participants must complete community service and are taken to national recruiting events for a quarter of the price of most club programs. S.T.A.T.S. is known for giving one scholarship every year to a deserving varsity senior student-athlete with a 3.0 or high GPA and 20+ hours of community service.
