Cecil College men's basketball dropped their third straight contest in a back and forth battle with the Hawks of College of Southern Maryland. The Seahawks have now suffered two losses to NJCAA Region XX Division II opponents in the past week. Cecil College falls to 9-13 overall and 6-7 in MD JUCO action.
The Seahawks and the Hawks experienced four different ties and three different lead changes through out the fourty minutes of play. Plagued by turnovers in the second half, the Seahawks gave up 25 points off their own mistakes, resulting in a 13-point loss.
Freshman guard Cornell Corbin tallied a double-double with 25 points and twelve rebounds in the loss to the Hawks. Corbin has now scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games. Sophomore guard Greg Alexander followed with 14 points of his own and a additional 11 points from sophomore guard Jordan Griggs.
Cecil College returns to cation at home on Wednesday, February 7 to face the Riverhawks of Anne Arundel Community College. Tip off for men's basketball is set for 7:00 p.m. Live statistics will be available for the contest.
