Eleven Seahawks Earn NJCAA Academic Awards

On July 6, 2017 the NJCAA National Office announced a record-number of student-athletes who earned distinction on one of the three 2016-2017 NJCAA All-Academic Teams. The NJCAA allows over 59,000 student-athletes to participate in athletics, while only 10.1 percent, a significant increase from last year's 7.9 percent, are recgonized with this prestigious honor for their success in the classroom.

In order to earn this honor, a student-athlete must meet the classifications listed below:

  • NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
  • NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
  • NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79

Of the 6,006 student-athletes honored across the nation, Cecil College is proud to recognize 11 Seahawks that were selected to one of the 2016-2017 NJCAA All-Academic Teams, making it the largest class in Cecil College Athletics history!
